Caroline Hornstein Tomić

Caroline Hornstein Tomić (Croatia) has widely published on migration with a focus on return and skilled mobility and related policies, as well as on identity politics, state-building and post-socialist transformation processes in Southeast Europe.  She holds a PhD in sociology and an MA in cultural anthropology / European ethnology from the Goethe University Frankfurt / Main. From 2016 to 2018 Caroline Hornstein Tomic was the Head of Operative Division/Deputy Director of the Federal Agency for Civic Education in Bonn. Today she is a Co-founder of the Zagreb based foundation Wissen am Werk / Znanje na djelu, and Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Social Sciences Ivo Pilar, Zagreb.
